Interesting story that profiles a number of companies seeking to preserve jobs by reducing people's hours worked - thus avoiding layoffs. Pilgrim Screw Corporation, a manufacturer of specialty screws and fasteners for aerospace and defense industries is profiled as one company that placed a number of people on reduced hours - CEO Geoffrey Grove placed himself on reduced hours as well. With support from the state of Rhode Island, the business is managing through these tough times with jobs intact.
